A wonderful visit.... part 2

We had a wonderful visit to the "Abbey of the Roses" at Warwick.

We celebrated Cheryl's Special "0" birthday with a High Tea and it was really great.

Very well behaved ladies.....

I had a special menu.... gluten free....
it was very yummie .....

This wonderful old Pianola was just near our table....
I was itching to have a play....
Gavan's father had one many years ago and it was a great source of fun .....
miss those days.

Following our High Tea we had a tour of the Abbey......
it was so interesting with so much history... amazing....
Our tour guide was great ....there he is on the right.

They do hold weddings here and one can only imagine how wonderful that would be.
This old photo was found when they were restoring the building so it is on display hoping one day that someone might recognise the happy couple and solve the mystery of their identity.

Lots of rooms to see....

In this room there was 2 lots of knitting for anyone to add a couple of rows, a fabulous idea and will then be given to charity.
De is adding a few rows  ....

Wedding reception area.... just beautiful....

The grounds were terrific....

If the walls could only talk I'm sure this place would have lots to tell.

A fantastic day......
We all hope that Cheryl had a great time for her Birthday.... we did....

So it was time to pack and head home......
my friends seem happy to be heading for their new home.

They are for my DIL Mel.....
she is monkey mad......

A quick stop for a last cuppa....

A lovely bush of lavender outside the cafe.... wonderful smell.

Back soon to catch up with my sewing news....

Toodles.....
