Tuesday Girls..... other bits.

Not a lot of stitching happening last Tuesday as you can see.......
lots of laughing but it doesn't look like that either in this photo.

This is the first Teapot Block I have been given......
My 70th Birthday Teapot blocks....

Thank you sooooo much Teresa, I love it.
What a pity I have to have a big birthday to receive these blocks.

Thursday was another lovely day with Mel (DIL).....
it was binding day for her little quilt and this time she has homework....
sewing down the binding and finishing the label.

It was Sunday Stitchers today and as usual I didn't take any photos...... very naughty.

But........
Jeanette gave me a Birthday Teapot block.....
Thank you very much Jeanette..... love it.

Woohooo......  my quilt has begun.

If you would like to make me a birthday block that would be wonderful.....

The block should be a Teapot theme, 6 1/2" square .... cream background
and any style you like..... applique/stitchery/pieced etc and colour of your choice.
Ooooops nearly forgot...... signed on the front please.
This is going to make such a wonderful keepsake, thank you Tuesday girls for getting this started for me.

I do love a beautiful Teapot !!!!!!!

I really do love this beautiful teapot........ but why am I telling you ?

Well I have 3 wonderful.... lovely.....and very naughty friends.

They have decided that as I'm having a big "0" birthday December this year it would be nice to do something special.....a birthday quilt......this idea was inspired by Cathy and Jeanette who also had big "0" birthdays this year.
If anyone would like to contribute a block for this then please feel free to do so.....

I have chosen a "Teapot" theme ....
each block is to be 6 1/2 inches square with a cream background. The teapots can be done using any method ....appliqued/ pieced/stitched etc ...... and can be in any colour you choose and signed on the front of the block...... like a signature really.

Sandi keeps asking me "have you put a post up yet" so I can now tell her "yes I have"
It really is a lovely idea that they want to organise this for me.....

But I really don't want this birthday this year.....lol.....
Ok ... I'll tell you ......70.....years young of course...... OMG it can't be.

A confession...... where do I begin ??????

at the beginning I guess......

I have a long overdue UFO.... now is this so terrible ?

Well for me it is, I have always had a lot of pride in finishing my projects....
except for this one...... but checking in my sewing room I have allowed a couple more to join in.

So my true confession is !!!!!!

"Romantic" candlewick quilt......

(head hanging in shame)
I started it in 2007 and it has been an on and mostly off relationship.....
I was hand quilting and I had done half of the blocks in feather quilting each corner and intended to do feather quilting around the border.
Unfortunately now I'm having sooooo much trouble with my hands that hand quilting is now out of the question so I unpicked all the quilting and have now finished it with simple machine quilting.

It's finished....... tadaaaaaa

Last Friday I was a very brave girl......
back to the dentist but this time I needed a root canal so more treats for me.

Norreen brought me these beautiful Daffodils to brighten my day and she certainly did.

Thanks Nor.

Toodles.....
