Here are a couple of piccies of my christmas decorations and a two of a lovely pressie that Teresa C made for me, its a photo album and hopefully I will get some piccies in it over the next few weeks, love it.
Merry Christmas to everyone and I hope you all have a safe and Happy New Year.
This a project I have been doing with a couple of friends..... Tereasa B and Teresa C...... they are called " Bucket-O-Christmas" pattern by Sun Valley Primitives ( I like to call them a" bucket of uglies" ) loved making these and as usual we had a few good laughs.
This is Teresa trying to hide from my trusty little camera.
We had a great time at our quilters group christmas party and opening of the swap pressies. I was so lucky to receive such beaut gifts from a very good friend Teresa, she does lovely work as you can see in the piccie and I'm very fortunate to have had her as my partner.
I really enjoyed making these tags, they were designed by Leanne May for a wonderful " Stitchers Dream Day Out" that I went to with great craft friends last September, we all had such a terrific time and its nice to have finished my project so soon.
"Gee Nan...... just 1 piccie...." Nannnnnn I said 1 piccie.......................
This is my g/daughter Corinne ready to go to her year 10 semi-formal and of course its absolutely necessary to see Nan before she goes. Wow this makes me feel old but its lovely to see her growing into a wonderful young lady although wearing a dress is not her favourite attire.

Its taken me a bit of time to get around to sharing the piccies of the great stitchers day we went to on 22nd September at Toowoomba, a slightly overcast day but everyone still had a terrific time. Natalie Bird, Leanne May, Rosalie Quinlan and Lynette Anderson certainly designed lovely projects for us and hopefully I will soon get 1 or 2 finished. Theres nothing more enjoyable than spending the day stitching with friends, having a great lunch without a care in the world.
"Pinkeeper" by Country Keepsakes. ( over did the cheeks on the one on the right, don't laugh)
I have been a bit quiet in the blogging world but busy in craft world.
Making dolls has been keeping me on the go, "Gracie" ... pattern by Rosalie Quinlan... is for my daughter Heather, I've had the fabric for quite some time but finally got to it, another project off the "to do list", also made 2 Pinkeeper's... pattern by Country Keepsakes and a secret santa doll for the prim treasures group and one for myself but can't show piccies yet cause then my partner would know so you will have to wait. Oh yes forgot the JQ&S group's secret santa pressie too so I have been very busy just not a lot of piccies to show at the moment.
Well I haven't been blogging very much lately but I'm pleased to say I have finished 2 projects from my "To do list 2007" the first is the Bronwyn Hayes table quilt " Tea with Veronica" and the second is a Mum's Moment quilt " Christmas belles " so now I can get on with my secret santa gifts for Prim Treasures group and the Jimboomba Quilters and Stitchers group. I don't have anything else newsy so I'd better get off the putor and get stitching.
Mmmmmm tagged hey, now what to write...8 things but I'm not very interesting really but here goes...... I have been tagged by the lovely Sarah from Prim Treasures Friendship Club- 8 random things about me.RULES - Post rules before giving the facts - Players start with eight random facts/habits about themselves - People who are tagged need to write their own blog about their eight things and post these rules - At the end of the your blog you need to tag eight people and list their names - Leave them a comment on their blog, telling them they have been tagged and not to forget to read your blog.

Holy dooly that was hard its not easy trying to think of stuff like that.lol
All my friends seem to have been tagged already but these girls might join in....
I have been very slack in my blog lately but I'm here to fix that.
These are the piccies of the beautiful gifts made for me by Jan, a member of our Secret Santa Swap, as you can see I was a very lucky girl and I'm making good use of all the pressies.... well the tree ornie will have to wait for christmas but I do have it hanging from a shelf and who cares if its not christmas.... not me thats for sure.
The bag is such a good size and great colours, you did a great job Jan thanks so much, I could go on and on but the piccies tell it all.
Wow this is so exciting..... I went to pick up my quilt from the Mt. Gravatt Show today so there I was having a look at the quilts and on my quilt was a blue ribbon and a great rosette, the ladies were waiting for me to show up to see the results, getting first prize for this section was great but to get "small quilt champion" and "best of show" was certainly more than I had hoped for.
I received a $50 voucher at Webster & Wood hairdressers for the first prize and Best of Show was a $100 voucher for a service on a sewing machine, $20 off a facial and a $20 voucher at sewing world.
Took a piccie at the show of the quilt and the other at home.
The Jimboomba Quilters and Stitchers Group began on the 4th June after the closure of our local craft shop and is now going very well with appox 35 members already and each week we about 20 girls attend which is great. We celebrated our first Christmas in July last monday and it was terrific, we had started a secret santa swap at the beginning of the year (whilst still at the craft shop) with 12 girls so we opened our gifts at our party, it was so much fun. I started a new swap for the next part of the year and we now have 20 girls involved so hope it goes well. Everyone brought a plate of food for the day so we eating took up most of the day as well as much laughing and chatting.... of course. As the piccies show a great was day had by all, I had to play santa which was a bit embarassing but whats a christmas party without santa. draft
Gosh its been a while since I have had anything newsworthy to tell but I do now.
I have entered my quilt (piccie below this post) "Throught the Garden Gate" in the Mt. Gravatt Show this weekend, I won't be going to the show until sunday afternoon to pick the quilt up so I"ll get to see all the quilts then and maybe have more news to tell.
I have joined blocks 1 through to 8 together and it seems to be coming along quite well. The piccie isn't very good but I was in a hurry and couldn't be bothered hanging it up so this will have to do for the moment.
June and I had a busy long weekend together, on Saturday morning we went to our local craft shop to buy fabric for a project we were going to make, then we baked a chocolate cake for my friend .... Jenny .... who was visiting on Sunday. Monday we visited Liz and her boys... Jake, Clayton ( my daughter, Junes Aunt) we had a lovely day.
Cleaning up after cooking.
Busy tracing and cutting out the doll.
Having a break......watching "Happy Feet"
This is a pattern from " Patchwork and Stitching" magazine ..."Rosemarie Jane" by Maria Lewty.
Here she is finished.
We made this doll together, June embroidered the cushion and pants, also machine sewing of the pants , stuffing the body and traced all pattern pieces with templates onto fabric ...... all for the very first time and she is only 9 years old. I'm very proud of her and I know " Rosie " will be happy living in June's bedroom.
We had a great day today, all the family together for Corinne's ( g/daughter ) 15th birthday yesterday and Gavan's ( hubbie) 65th birthday tomorrow. Here are a few piccies of Gavan's bedroom, before and after, his pressie was a group thing this year, a new venetian blind.... curtains... bedspread... light fitting, a quilt with piccies of his model planes on it, he was off flying his planes and was ready for him when he arrived home but of course he came home early and was promptly told to stay outside, naturally everything wasn't ready but did look great in the end , he was surprised and happy which was terrific. Corinne received a new camera.... money which she loved.... clothes so she also was surprised and happy.
I'm a Mum to 1 fantastic son and 2 beautiful daughters I'm also Nan to 5 super grandchildren and not forgetting my Hubby...Gavan of 52 years. We have a cute Jack Russell dog "Pippa" who is the boss in our home.
I enjoy lots of crafts but embroidery would be my first love followed closely by quilting, patchwork and the list goes on. I like to have a go at new crafts when I can. We have lived in Jimboomba QLD for 27 years. I hope you enjoy your visit to my blog.
